Starry Night

So I have this dilemma, I always want to keep my bathroom window shade up because I love the natural light while I'm taking a shower...

but I don't want to give my neighbors behind my building a free peep show... if you know what I mean.

So I came up with an idea to use my star punch to cut out pretty stars all over the shade.

Now I can keep my shade down and still have natural light.

And surprisingly it looks even prettier and whimsical at night!

Who knew the bathroom could be such a magical place?

Organized Mess

Do you ever get in the mood to just make something pretty? I do!

So I dumped out my drawers all over the floor and made a total mess ( it feels quite liberating! ). Then I separated all of the objects by color.

Mmmm, pretty.

Then I decided to tediously organize all of the objects.

A few hours later...

and then a few more hours later...

I had this!

It reminds me of those fun I Spy books I had as a kid. The picture makes me so happy that I'm going to print it super large and cover my wall. I can't wait for my little brother to come over so we can play a giant game of I Spy ;)

Wall of Achievements

This is my dad's office.

Like many other offices, the walls are covered with his awards and achievements.

I thought I'd do the same to my office since I've achieved and earned quite a lot of awards in my time.

Such as this nursery school diploma,

This tooth brushing award for brushing my teeth every day for an entire week,

Girl scout badges earned by playing games, 

and my personal favorite, the" I was caught being good award".

I hope people don't feel too intimidated whenever they enter my office...

Shoe Makeover

See these sad, worn out looking shoes?

They've been working really hard lately so they definitely deserve a makeover.

I traced a heart shape onto two pieces of red felt, cut them out,

and then sewed them together.

I cleaned up my shoes, gave them a well deserved back massage, and then glued on the hearts.

Now they look brand new,

 and extra cute!

Homemade Business Cards

I'm shooting a ton of events this week but found that I'm all out of business cards! There's not enough time to get new ones delivered so I thought... why don't I just make my own fun cards at home?

So I hung up a white sheet against the wall and took a few self portraits.

I used double sided matte paper and printed the pictures on one side,

and the name of my website on the back.

I roughly cut around the pictures and placed them between two clear adhesive sheets,

and laminated them!

I then cut them all out,

and poof!

 My new business cards are done.

Now there's a bunch of little Katies running around the world taking pictures!

I'm sorry that I haven't updated my blog in a while...

but sometimes you just have to take a break from the world,

and play with your cat.

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we placed a lectern with a megaphone on it in public places around NYC. Attached to the lectern was a sign that read " Say Something Nice".
