The Shadow Project

Do you ever wonder if your shadow is playing tricks on you behind your back?

I mean, it could be, right? It's always walking behind you so you never know what's going on back there!

The past couple of weeks I've been tracing Matty and I onto large rolls of black paper.

I then cut them out into fun shadow people,

and taped them onto the walls and sidewalks all around Brooklyn. I then waited for people to walk by and took a picture at the exact moment they matched up with their silly shadow.

Flowers

My neighborhood makes me feel like Alice in Wonderland.

I'm expecting the flowers to break out into song any day now!

Buttons

Wanna know a secret about me?

For some reason I always find myself in the most ridiculous situations....at least three times a day.

Pretty recently I ruined my favorite coat. It was such a nice day out that I sat down and leaned against a pole to people watch. When I went to get up I found out that I was stuck! The pole had just been painted and while I was leaning on it, I dried to it! It took me 25 minutes, a lot of wiggling, and a couple of phone calls to my friends to help me to break free.

I thought my coat was ruined but realized there's always a way to make things better.

My Grandpa gave me lovely box of buttons my Grandma had saved so I figured now would be a great time to use them.

I feel so special to have them.

So I took my coat, turned it inside out and sewed them onto it.

Moo supervised.

It looks way more fun inside out and now, it has some very special buttons.

Weekend

On this lovely warm weekend I,

went to a community weaving event

 (how fun is this woman's outfit?),

went on little adventures with Matty,

Shot a few events with Lou Reed,

Tori Spelling,

and Christian from project runway,

and took Moo to the park to bird watch!

Insects

My apartment is infested with colorful insects.

It's actually quite nice!

Easter

Today I learned that Easter also means fun hat day.

Cat gymnastics

Moo took a break from shower gymnastics and is now all about door balancing.

How does such a giant cat stand on such little things?

Grandma

My lovely grandma has been really sick this week.

One of the many things that I admire about her is that she loves to give people little presents for no reason. So in honor of grandma, I bought tons of pretty flowers and walked around my neighborhood this morning handing them out to people. It was refreshing to see how such a small thing could make people so happy. I understand why grandma loves it so much!

Minutes after I finished handing out the flowers I received a call from my dad,

my grandma had passed away.
