Sunny day

It's such a sunny day and although I want nothing more than to run around outside... I have to stay in and work.
So I decided that instead of taking a lunch break I was going to take a doodle break!
I used these fun window crayons to draw what I would like to see outside my window all day.

Now I can see birds and clouds and skydivers from right inside my living room. Working indoors just became way more entertaining.
shadows!
and they make such pretty shadows on the wall!

Philippe Petit

This weekend I was able to meet Philippe Petit!
If you've seen the documentary Man On Wire then you know he's the only man to ever walk a wire between the Twin Towers.
How amazingly crazy is that?

He even gave me a little lesson on tightrope walking! It was only across the gymnasium but I'm preeeeeetty sure I'm ready to walk the Grand Canyon next ;)

My weekend

I pretty much worked non stop all weekend and although I'm a bit tired, hungry, and completely sunburned.... it was awesome!

Fun!

Thanks for sharing over 500 things that make you guys smile. Whenever I had time I would check in and get a fun energy boost from all of your comments. I picked a few people at random to send a special gift to in the mail!

Dear sunburn... you were totally worth it.

A few things that make me happy

flowers that seem to smile,
decorating burritos like I would decorate a cake,
shopping cart street art,
llama
my new intern,

trees with a sense of fashion,
forcing embarrassing butterfly tattoos onto my brother's arm,
Moo's thinking face when he's studying,

dancing while doing the dishes,
Keith
and wonderfully gigantic smiles!

I have a crazy busy weekend and would love to hear some things that make you smile. It would definitely make my stressful weekend a bit less stressful! So let's play a game, tell me something that makes you happy or link to a photo that makes you smile in the comments and I will pick a few people at random on Monday to send a fun present to in the mail! Make sure to put your email or a link to your blog in the comments so I can contact you.

Gawker Show

Last week I was part of a group art show called "...In with the New" at Gawker.
I filled their space with tons of silly thought bubbles so that when someone stands under them you can read their thoughts!
There were thoughts about bootys,
food being stuck in your teeth,
starting a fight,
I secretly made a thought bubble of a guy who works at Gawker and hung it up in the bathroom. He had no idea until he went to the bathroom the next day and saw himself thinking about himself in the mirror!
He must have been very confused ;)

The Tourist Lane

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, our friend Jeff had a funny idea to create separate lanes on the sidewalk with chalk for tourists and New Yorkers.

New Yorkers are known for always racing to their destination and since people from out of town like to take their time and actually enjoy the city, having separate lanes isn't a bad idea!
Everyone thought it was hilarious and suggested that it be painted in all cities.

I'm guessing this couple has a long distance relationship.

Our friends wore orange vests and pretended to be in charge of keeping people and dogs in their lanes.
They were improvising the whole time and were talking like very stereotypical New Yorkers. Their interactions with people are absolutely hilarious. I've been quoting some of their lines all week!
Even though I live in New York, I'd prefer to take my time and stroll in the tourist lane ;)

Something Pretty

This morning I woke up with an urge to make something pretty...

so I did!

I made a mobile full of butterflies, ladybugs, and birds and put it together with things I found around the house like fishing wire, a CD, ribbon, and a pretty pink button.

Isn't it fun making something with stuff you find just lying around the house?
