Mute Button

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we did a prank called The Mute Button which was made for a Guggenheim Museum exhibition!
048
We had break dancers,
128
dog trainers,
019
saxophone players,
029
preachers,
107
kids, and many more people gather in front of a park to make a lot of noise.
034
Then, all of a sudden everyone went silent at the same time as if someone pressed a mute button.
134
Everyone continued to play music, dance, and talk on the phone but no sound would come out,
055
and people's reactions are just so much fun!
Check out the awesome video Matty put together to see the mute button in action!

All work and no play makes Katie a dull girl

One thing I'm really bad at is sitting still and getting work done at my computer. So today I'm going to mix work and play!
Here's the game... For every email I send out, I'm going to make a little something out of paper. The goal is to get as much work done so that by the end of the day I'll have created some kind of fun paper collage on my wall! I'm going to be updating this post throughout the day with pictures of my progress so keep checking back!

1:30pm- 10 emails done, 1,833 to go!
2:00pm
3:30pm- chair spinning break!
4:20pm

5:45pm- I have to run out for a quick photo shoot!
8:30pm- Soooooo maybe I stayed out a little too late last night but how can I leave this pretty view?! Time to finish my project!

Phew, that's a lot of emails!
I think I'm going to continue working on it until the whole wall is covered!

lalalala love

Want to see something beautiful?
The next time you see a bunch of people getting ready to take a group picture...

stand behind them.

That's where all the love is!

Sometimes you can tell how much people love each other without even seeing their faces.

Gotta Share!

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we broke out into a musical at the GEL Conference.
057
We had a fake speaker get up and introduce a fake new social networking site called twirlr.
042
When he asks the audience to turn off their cell phones, an audience member interrupts him and breaks into song!
066
The song is a parody on how we overshare on the internet and it's absolutely hilarious.
075

I'm at a cafe right now doing work but I can't stop singing to myself, "Wish I could share this with my cat, there's gotta be an app for that!"

Yes, everyone here thinks I'm crazy.

My terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

Yesterday I had one of those days where everything seemed to be going wrong.
I was upset, angry, and all I wanted to do was scream!
It felt like there was nothing I could do to feel better so I thought that if I can't feel good, then I'd like to spend the rest of the day making other people feel good.
So I bought a bouquet of flowers, sat on the sidewalk and cut apart each stem with my keys. Then I wandered around the city handing them out to strangers.
I stopped in a store and gave a flower to all of the ladies working there. They were so excited and a lot of them said that it even made their day!
That's when I realized that there's absolutely no better feeling than making other people happy.
and that's how my terrible day became my wonderfully, delightful, happy, very good day.
