What things make you nostalgic?

Last weekend while taking a walk, I stopped at a stoop sale. A large bin had caught my eye and when I lifted up the cover...

Untitled

it was filled to the top with toys from my childhood!

Suddenly all of these wonderfully sweet, warm and loving memories came back to me that I had completely forgotten about.

Untitled

While looking through the toys with a big goofy smile on, the owner approached me and said, "You can take the whole bin home for five dollars"

Untitled
Five dollars?! I couldn't believe the deal I was getting!
Untitled
Realistically, this was just a bin of old, cheap, plastic objects but to me... it was like gold.
Untitled
I was able to bring back a flood of happy childhood memories that were locked up in a room inside my head…
Untitled
and it only cost me five dollars to buy the key.

  3. What a fun post! I call this time traveling, when a scent or smell or taste or object or music sends you back to another you.

Because I moved this past week, I was listening to old compilation CDs and time traveled myself.

  23. I'm so lucky to be reliving mine again with my daughter... She's playing with little things that I used to when I was 4! I believe in toys that encourage imagination... I'm hoping she can one day look back on hers and smile too :)

    Love your bursts of colour!

  24. So beautiful! I thought they were all legos but oh my goodness - so very many different kinds of toys in that mix! I have a "treasure" box in my parents' home where I hid all the toys and trinkets that I collected over the years, some from when I was 3 years old. this reminds of that!
