  3. The lady in the bakery is from Peter Pan Donuts!! I love that place, I use to live in Greenpoint and they have the BEST donuts. In fact we came in to visit for the 4th and we made it a point to go there the first chance we could get. Awesome pictures and a great post!

  18. This is wonderful! I'm a strong believer that it is those around us, even beyond those we have close relationships with, that make up our own personal culture. Thanks so much for this one, made my day!

What a great idea ! We talk so much about people surrounding us in daily life but it's so much better when we all can put faces to names !!

  22. angel - the bodega owner- top pic is the best. his sister is Shadow. do you remember smokey the bodega cat? 2 years ago i spent a month taking care of her kittens in the basement of this bodega and adopted one. everything that comes out of that place is sweet + friendly. and shadow makes a KILLER bacon egg + chz sandwich but gets mad if you order too late in the day. maybe the best in the nabe, but has to be made by Shadow.

  30. I love Greenpoint and the people in my neighborhood too! Fabulous photos and if you happen to see this, what Photoshop and/or camera settings do you use to get the colors so vibrant? I got a Nikon for a gift and the colors are more washed out than I was used to obtaining with my Canon - I miss my Canon's vibrant colors!

  35. In layman terms, if that is possible, what "setting" do you use to photograph like the one in the toy store?

  36. Your photography really captures a feeling of happiness. Yes, the people in our neighborhood are pretty great, but you make them and everything you photograph look even better than the real thing. I love your work!
