For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we placed a lectern with a megaphone on it in public places around NYC. Attached to the lectern was a sign that read " Say Something Nice".
This is what New Yorkers had to say...
I couldn't help myself and had to go up to share some love as well!

I watched the video and smiled - then suddenly I thought that that gal @1:00 reminded me of... YOU! So I checked your blog here (I've been following your posts via your twitter for ages) and lo and behold, it WAS you! haha, love it - great moment, thanks for sharing... that blue umbrella really IS cute. :D

Genius idea! I love random acts of kindness. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and nice and lovely. I don't often say things out loud to my computer, but I caught myself saying "Awww" more than once. Still my cynical mind wonders how many cuss words and how much general nonsense was edited out :P

Stay Safe this weekend!!!!
ReplyDeletetoday on tvnews, here in Spain, this improv was the only happy new!!!! I follow your blog like a sleeve, so I knew you said something... I was excited (I know it sound like mad fan) looking for you and... ta da! there you were telling one girl you liked her blue umbrella, and I was screaming my flatmates "This is Katie!, this is katie!, Moo's owner!"
ReplyDeleteIt's a silly thing, but maybe you liked to know you were here, many kilometres far ago, on the tv news with the only happy new.
Thanks for everything!
Katie I had never heard your voice... you have a very sweet voice...
ReplyDeleteWe should put up a say-something-nice-megaphone in every city. People so easily forget to voice their good thoughts...
ReplyDeletesmiles,
F.
Thanks for everything. Really. You can't imagine how much happiness and inspiration you give me! :)
ReplyDeleteEva, que alegría ver a otra española! Yo no ví la noticia pero seguro que habría gritado también! ;)
This is such an awesome idea Katie! I love how happy everyone in the video was. People should try to do things like this more often. You never know how something so little like receiving a compliment can make someone's day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and positive idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!

This is awesome! I wish people where I live would have the guts to express themselves the way New Yorkers do :)
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome :D Also, I think the two guys with guitars singing something about Leather Jackets were Hamish and Andy who are comedians and radio presenters from Australia who are doing some kind of tour of the US. Or something :P
ReplyDeleteThis is why I love New York! Great project, awesome video!

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I didn't know it was an 'improv-everywhere-action' until I checked your blog. I was watching German TV and thought 'Oh, she looks like Katie Sokoler' and I actually was right. :)

Have a lovely day everybody!
