Buttons

Wanna know a secret about me?
For some reason I always find myself in the most ridiculous situations....at least three times a day.
Pretty recently I ruined my favorite coat. It was such a nice day out that I sat down and leaned against a pole to people watch. When I went to get up I found out that I was stuck! The pole had just been painted and while I was leaning on it, I dried to it! It took me 25 minutes, a lot of wiggling, and a couple of phone calls to my friends to help me to break free.

I thought my coat was ruined but realized there's always a way to make things better.
My Grandpa gave me lovely box of buttons my Grandma had saved so I figured now would be a great time to use them.
I feel so special to have them.
So I took my coat, turned it inside out and sewed them onto it.
Moo supervised.
It looks way more fun inside out and now, it has some very special buttons.

Way to make lemonades with your lemons! By the way, you & your cat are truly photogenic. If you've ever watched America's Next Top Model this will make sense - you have got Tyra Banks beat on smiling with your eyes!

Very clever. It looks super cute.
Now I feel o.k. for giggling at the thought of you trying to wiggle free from the pole!

Love your blog! You seem to be always so upbeat and glass half full, which is awesome and inspiring. When something bad happens, do you ever just scream "F*@K!"?

Hi Katie,

Your blog makes me want to fingerpaint, mail spontaneous greetings on postcards and put food colouring in my oatmeal. Basically, it makes me feel alive.

Thanks for that.

What a lovely blog. I was beginning to give up hope of finding one when I stumbled across yours.

The ladybird pins you placed outside in one of your previous posts really brought a smile to my face - as did your cat's door balancing acrobatics :)

Great photos too - can't wait to see more!

I love that you spend your life creating smiles. I know a few people who might get themselves stuck to a freshly painted pole. But very few how could turn such an event into something so gorgeous.
