New

Here's my new self-portrait I shot this morning!
I absolutely love looking through the self-portraits that some of you have posted in the comments, keep them coming!
After the shoot, I accidentally tripped over a box of sequins and spilled them all over my floor.
But that's okay, now I have sparkly floors...
and some new fancy shoes.

I love your new self-portrait. Not to be a downer, but how long did it take you to clean up all that stuff (the craft stuff, not the sparkles)? Do you enjoy cleaning (sometimes I do)? I guess part of being creative is being spontaneous and accepting the necessary aftermath. :)

haha it actually didn't take that long Adelaide! I have a whole cabinet full of messy craft stuff so I just scooped it up and threw it in =)

Magnificent. Did the sequins really spill in such a perfect arrangement? Either way - I love 'em.

Oooh!! Kitty Cat Craziness!!

Just came across your blog a couple of days ago. Love love it! Personally, I'm not confident enough to take a self portrait (OK--I tried, once, and couldn't get the angle right and I look old and crochetty!) so, for the time being at least, I'll just continue to take pictures of other people and admire those of you who CAN manage to take portraits of yourselves! Gotta love those sparkles. :oD

No one will ever have to tell you to make lemonade out of lemons!! Your creativity is soooooo contagious!!! Love it! And love your sparkle!!

what a beautiful shot! i admire your style and willingness to dump all that stuff on your floor. (i almost feel uncomfortable looking at it because it makes me think of how long it would take to pick up 3 zillion sequins and buttons and crayons and such, haha.)

Hi, Katie - what a sparkly portrait, love it! And I was struck by your comment in the previous post about using self-portraits as "photo-therapy."

I just published an interview with a therapist who uses that exact term! There are fun tips here, including how to "interview" past photos to find gems of happiness in old times.

About a month ago I started a Foto Challenge and this week's challenge was SELF PORTRAITS. Not a one of us is professional, but here are mine:

http://zeahrenaissance.blogspot.com/2009/10/foto-friday-self-portrait-edition.html

I am REALLY impressed with the mess you made in order to take that picture! The setting up and then cleaning up probably too a lot longer than the actual photo snapping. I've been wondering how to get an "aerial" view when snapping your own picture, which you nailed, btw. I wonder if you might share how you did it?
