Dollhouse

79 pieces,

and over 3 hours later,

my wonderfully gigantic dollhouse was done!
Why build a dollhouse you ask?

Because Moo and I have grown tired of plain old shelves,

and a dollhouse is pretty much a giant shelf...except a lot more colorful and fun!

Moo agrees.

My daughter has one similar to this and I've seen pics where people use the dollhouse as a shelf when the kids outgrow it. So fun!

What a wonderful dollhouse. That's a really good idea to use it as a shelf and it goes with the colourful things you own. Would like to see more! Hugs from Germany!

Yay! I'm so glad you're back and posting. You are, ultimately, the inspiration for my blog!
Also, I love the dollhouse. I just moved at the end of December and am in desperate need of some shelving for my stuff. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to go with the cheapest Ikea thing I can find!

dear Katie.. I love love love your doll house... what I'm curious is that, how do you keep all of your little cuties clean all the time? becase I like to be surrounded by little things that are so cute buat always fail to keep them away from dusk :( do you clean them everyday? just wondering...

Love the idea! I made my own dollhouse out of cardboard when I was a kid, though, and I doubt my craftsmanship would hold up under any real weight.

Absolutely adorable! Moo seems thrilled. And I love that you can now refer to things by what room they are in! "Oh, the bowl of pom-poms is taking up most of the living room..."

I have three questions:

1. Can you stop at one?
2. How long before you give in and start furnishing it?
3: Does this help entice you? http://www.flickr.com/groups/modern_miniatures/
