Outtakes

If you liked the Star Wars Subway Car video then I'm sure you'll enjoy the outtakes video that Matty put together!
I don't know what's funnier...Darth Vader accidently smashing his head into the subway door or the Stormtrooper dropping his money and not being able to bend over and pick it up.

Star Wars Subway Car

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we reenacted a scene from Star Wars on the subway.

Princess Leia went out for what she thought was a quiet ride on the train,

when suddenly Stormtroopers entered!

They quickly spotted her,
captured her,

and took her to the doors on the opposite side of the train.

Of course Darth Vader decided to pop in and join the party.
The entire train car broke out in laughter!

It always makes me so happy to see complete strangers laughing with each other.

The Tourist Lane

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, our friend Jeff had a funny idea to create separate lanes on the sidewalk with chalk for tourists and New Yorkers.

New Yorkers are known for always racing to their destination and since people from out of town like to take their time and actually enjoy the city, having separate lanes isn't a bad idea!
Everyone thought it was hilarious and suggested that it be painted in all cities.

I'm guessing this couple has a long distance relationship.

Our friends wore orange vests and pretended to be in charge of keeping people and dogs in their lanes.
They were improvising the whole time and were talking like very stereotypical New Yorkers. Their interactions with people are absolutely hilarious. I've been quoting some of their lines all week!
Even though I live in New York, I'd prefer to take my time and stroll in the tourist lane ;)

Who You Gonna Call?

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we brought the movie Ghostbusters to life in the New York Public Library!
We had three ghosts walk in and take a seat to read,
surf the web,

and look up words in the dictionary.
After some time the Ghostbusters came in,
and chased the ghosts all around the reading room!

Libraries always make me feel uncomfortable because of how quiet they are so it was wonderful to see the entire room burst out in laughter and applause!

This is me exploding with cheesy joy to be hanging out with Ghostbusters.

Matty made the fun video and Tyler made the awesome Ghostbusters music. The smiles in the video are so contagious that I think I'll be smiling all day!

No Pants!

Matty just finished editing Improv Everywhere's No Pants Subway Ride video!
Doesn't the music make you wanna silly dance around your room in your undies? I know that's what I'll be doing for the rest of the night!

No Pants Subway Ride

Yesterday was Improv Everywhere's 9th Annual No Pants Subway Ride!
IMG_4755
Thousands of people came out in the cold to take their pants off and ride the trains with a straight face.

Totally caught this girl sneaking a peak ;)

I would say only in New York but this event happened in 43 cities around the world!

Would you feel comfortable dropping your pants in public?

Handbells

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, we surprised a Salvation Army bell ringer by bringing along our own bell ringers to play with him.
Our first ringer came out with a gigantic bell
and the group gradually grew,
until we had a 13 member handbell choir playing "Joy to the World".

It was a fun christmas surprise for the ringer and all the people in the street!

Where's Rob?

For our latest Improv Everywhere mission, our friend Rob pretended to get lost at a Knicks game.
IMG_0644
He went to get some snacks but when trying to find his way back, he kept appearing further and further away from where our seats were.
IMG_0649
His friends were constantly keeping an eye out for him and would start screaming his name every time they spotted him.
IMG_0677
The people sitting around them started to notice that Rob was lost and decided to join in.
IMG_0707
and the crowd grew,
IMG_0734
and grew,
IMG_0788
and grew!
Suddenly hundreds of people were shouting for Rob.
IMG_0681
Can you find Rob?
IMG_0697
People were completely unaware at the time that they were pretty much playing a giant game of Where's Waldo.
IMG_0811
When Rob finally found his way back the entire place exploded. More people were cheering for Rob than for the Knicks!

The video is absolutely hilarious. You must watch just to see everyone's enthusiasm and all the fun chants the crowd made up.
